  1. and your comment just reminded me of a piece from The Wall:

If you don’t eat yer meat, you can’t have any pudding!

Haha! And, Ryan, I promise I’m not referring the ‘meat’ to your ‘cranium’…;)

Thanks, as always, for the comments! ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. instead of a verbal reply tonight: blueberrytongues, which are at least as eloquent as any verbisms ๐Ÿ˜€

blueberrytongues and the tropic of cancer

  3. Reminds me more of Clock DVA than anything by Floyd. Great variation on the similar shot I love so much. This one is slightly closer to conventional reality, and thus somewhat more traditionally menacing.

  4. Okay…if we are naming music this brings to mind…then it’s Tempation by New Order in Trainspotting…just love it, Derrick.

    Oh, you’ve got green eyes
    Oh, you’ve got blue eyes
    Oh, you’ve got grey eyes
And I’ve never seen anyone quite like you before
No, I’ve never met anyone quite like you before

    Heaven, a gateway, a hope
Just like a feeling I need, it’s no joke
And though it hurts me to see you this way
Betrayed by words, I’d never heard, too hard to say
    Up, down, turn around
Please don’t let me hit the ground
Tonight I think I’ll walk alone
I’ll find my soul as I go home

Each way I turn, I know I’ll always try
To break this circle that’s been placed around me
From time to time, I find I’ve lost some need
That was urgent to myself, I do believe
    Oh, you’ve got green eyes
    Oh, you’ve got blue eyes
    Oh, you’ve got grey eyes
And I’ve never seen anyone quite like you before
No, I’ve never met anyone quite like you before
Bolts from above hurt the people down below
People in this world, we have no place to go
    Oh, it’s the last time
Oh, I’ve never met anyone quite like you before
Oh no, I’ve never met anyone quite like you before

  5. Ha! I was thinking more along the lines of the band

    Slint

but it’s good to see people’s perceptions!

Thanks to you all for the comments! Reverberations, I tell ya! Reverberations! ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. Superfly Cool!!

    "How does he dream
    How does he think
    When he can’t even speak
    And he can’t even blink
We are all lost in the
    Wilderness we’re as
    Blind as can be
He came down to teach us
    How to really see."
    – from the "Eyeball Kid" by Tom Waits

  9. Hahaaa! I love this! I see this very literally – and it’s a very appropo image of you, Derrick!!
You are swimming in the water, weaving through the night with your tongue completely protracted and stretched long (the better to flippy-flam us with your flarfy magic).

    Fantastic!!! :))

  10. i am sure you werent going for the 80’s thing but… thats what i think of when i see this… and i too have a song…

"i wear my sunglasses at night
    so i can
    so i can
see the light thats right before my eyes…"

    i love corey hart.
    and i love derrickT

  11. love it….
those shades are gonna become a trade before you know it….
    well, already, if not.
    love the composition.
you’re either swimming like Anne says or riding some motorbike from ‘clockwork orange’.

    well done my friend
    ๐Ÿ˜‰
I’ll give this one a Cragslang!

  12. I wasn’t really going for anything here — although there are many times when I do go after a particular concept, but this was one of the one’s that "just happened", the beautiful mistakes, the happy accidents, and so forth! I still believe that even "mistakes" are concepts in themselves, even when the over-all esteem’d steam of the situation is unfolding itself.

Wow, I truly appreciate all of the comments/compliments! Truly! May you all shine forever!

  13. I have no idea why but… this is making me think of a gangster from the 40’s/50’s.

mm… I think my mind briefly turned the blackness in the bottom portion of the photo into a black shirt and the lightness in the middle into a white tie.

    (love)

  14. in this one and your most recent self pic with shades, your looks are quite reminiscent of a certain mr. billy corgan, but a lot younger and fresher faced….now i must add this as a fav ๐Ÿ˜‰

  15. Thank you everyone for the comments here! Always my pleasure and deep appreciation! ๐Ÿ™‚

danielle: Those ‘shades’ are actually my prescription glasses! ๐Ÿ™‚ Unless you were referring to the ‘shades’ that I have show-cased in these particular images?

Anyhow, thank you for the comparison to Billy Corgan, which is flattering in itself. Funnily enough, I had pulled out Gish (from the skadillion cds I own) and was listening to it in my car a few days ago. I heard that Smashing Pumpkins were getting back together and was absolutely over-ecstatic because I knew that they would be touring and I would finally get to see them live, but then I read where it was only two of the four members, which made me bite my lip. It’s not Smashing Pumpkins unless they have all four members — I don’t care what anyone says! ๐Ÿ™‚

Another interesting facet is that not too long ago I was sporting the ‘completely shaved’ (bald) ‘look’ which Billy has sported for many years now. I don’t think he’ll ever let it grow back out and quite frankly it makes me curious if he is actually losing his hair, which is probably the case.

Anyhow, I wasn’t expecting to type this much, but who knows if you’ll see this anyway, so all is grooved and creviced! Thanks again for the comments/praise and the like. Deepest love to you! ๐Ÿ™‚
