  1. Ohhhhhh Derrick.. :D…. love this one!!!! Outstanding idea :)…. movie like hehe….. very well done :)… is this you??? You look so different on this one!
Love you when you get insane :D!!!!

  2. Krissie: The blood is courtesy of Dick Smith (the greatest make-up artist of all-time, who created many, many, many special effects for films. Popular films, at that — give him a Google!). The blood is quite easy to make. If anyone wants to know the "formula", then let me know and I shall provide it for you. Thanks for the comments! ๐Ÿ™‚

    Ryan: ๐Ÿ™‚

Lola: The person there is actually myself, in all of my tarnished remains! Ha! I appreciate your comments! ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Jaqueline: Always great to see you over here! Yes, that is me. One of the reasons I "look different" (among the many reasons!) is the "razor" (ha) that’s slicing me is actually "lifting" my lips upward. I have to admit, the time that went into this was well-worth it, because the ‘razor’ was quite tight on my face, and it began to "burn" after a while (after all of the "movement", etc.). Not to mention, the ‘sweat’ was really beginning to have an effect, because the heat from the lighting was absolutely scorching! ๐Ÿ™‚ — Thanks for the comments!

bealluc: Wow, very nice of you to say, my friend! I appreciate your comments with the upmost flattery! ๐Ÿ™‚

Maryanne: Thank you, thank you, thank you! ๐Ÿ™‚ …Yes, the tootsie rolls! My uncle had them on a table and I couldn’t resist myself. Haha! They’re actually quite addictive! …Your presence is always appreciated! ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. stagewhisper: Yeah, well you know, my friends are all ghosts anyway, so I suppose that explains it! ๐Ÿ™‚

Christi: Thanks for the Lurv! Thanks for stopping by, as always! ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. OHHH MYYYY BLOODY GRAVY!!!!
Derrick, you chameleon, you! This is absotively, posilutely hauntorrific!! – – A retainer-headgear gone wrong!
And yet… I sigh big at the palette! My eye soaks in such beautiful colors here… peachy, rosy, bluey-grey – – WOW, WOW, WOW! Truly a vision, my lovely friend…

  6. I think it’s absolutely not your blood . ๐Ÿ˜€ Sweet Derrick will bleed out Candyz !!!! *_______________*= .

But really , looking at the picture give me a creep .>_<.

  7. Okay, Mr. Tootsie Roll Guy…don’t we love to step to the edge…
    a life’s Pledge…
    to do or die
    all or nothing
    makes me sigh
    to think, in a blink,
    it will never end…
    it will never end…
    it will never end…

  8. holy intensity! hehe ๐Ÿ™‚ very very nice. that bloodshot eye adds so much drama here. your hard labor did not go unrewarded.

  9. This is so different and so much more bizarre from the photos I normally comment on. Well, that is, outside of your photostream, which is why I’m glad to call you a friend. I’m glad to note that no Derricks were harmed in the making of this photo.

  10. I wish I’d eaten breakfast prior to viewing this because there is no way I can do it now! A twistedly intense and wicked self portrait!

  11. a strong, physically gut-wrenching image…the tightness within the frame suggests a claustrophobic yet undeniable revelation – be it born of self torture or submission to that of another.
like your horror movies, this has a sensuality going on at the same time, that uncertain crossover of pleasure and horror.
    bingo!
    marvelous!
lovely bloodshot eye and parted lips:-)

  12. all I can think of is…..damn the photographer’s quite a sick puppy for not helping Derrick!

    haha…
this alludes to movies of the early 80s…an uncovered film can that had lay hidden under the floorboards of uncle’s dusty garage.

    if you don’t make it….
    well. shine on my friend.
    ๐Ÿ™‚
    shine on.

    wonderfully unnerving!

  13. i was all like duude! and gaaahhh! and then i clicked on the make big button and got the all shakey creepies and shit.

splendid work sir. your pulled and distorted features hint at the breaching of the consciousness border, the mind convulsing as it unravels and implodes upon itself, perhaps in response to some much words and darker pain off frame.

    very unfiguratively chilling.

  14. Ah! Wow! I sign on and look at the treats you kind people have left for me! Oh how I’m grateful!

josephine/thao: Ha! I was thinking about your comment, about "bleeding out candies", and it gave me another idea! Thank you so very much for the kindness, my friend! I appreciate you! ๐Ÿ™‚

Honest, ann, cjPanda, regularjoe, sabai sabai, sylvia: Thanks, thanks, thanks! I’m happy that this was enjoyed! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Love Lane: Why? Good question! ๐Ÿ˜‰ — No, I don’t stay away from horror movies whatsoever and I don’t think that they stay away from me, either! In fact, just last night I watched Nosferatu (1979 remake with Kinski). I adore the make-up work on Klaus Kinski! But he’s ‘scary’ anyway without the make-up, so…:) — Thank you for the comments!

CinemaCowgirl, jallen, ricardo, portal, stelka, brian, julianrod, jot.de, kara, jcash, goblinqueen, boojoo, mary, sevensouls, wimdejonge, john, galeto: An enormous thanks to all of you for your kind comments/compliments! Truly appreciative! ๐Ÿ™‚

veggtabel: Thanks for stopping by! I hope I’m not a "ticking bomb", if anything! ๐Ÿ˜‰ — So, this one is your favorite, eh? Positive? Certain? ๐Ÿ™‚

Craig: Oh, you’re very kind! I have to admit that I got a kick out of "No Derricks were harmed in the making of this photo" — Haha! Yes, I made sure all of the Derricks were safe and properly taken care of! ๐Ÿ™‚ — Thank you, as always, for rewarding me with your praise and comments! I’m very thankful!

sawall: Hi! …The blood looks "dark" because of the lighting, and I am thinking that the heat from the lights may have caused the blood to become a bit darker than it really is. But not much!

I’ve found that if you add one drop of yellow food coloring to the red, it helps to balance it out. Also, a pinch (and only a pinch!) of flour into the mix will help give the blood a more realistic appearance. This is after you’ve made the blood, though. When you are about to use it, just get out however the amount you are going to use and put it in a small container (or whatever you like to use) and then add the pinch of flour, which then you will need to stir it up (obviously) and then you will see a huge difference! My uncle saves popcicle sticks for the stirrers. ๐Ÿ™‚

Thank you for the comments! ๐Ÿ™‚

attator: Ha! Well, I’m an "all-around" type of guy, so don’t be surprised! ๐Ÿ˜‰ …In fact, I love romantic films, classic love stories, etc., so I know I could easily pull it off! Thanks for the comments! ๐Ÿ™‚

-saint-: Haha! Kren-ish, eh? Hmm! I don’t know if I’ve ever seen him do anything like this (as most of his work is re-worked photographs of himself amongst other subjectories [of course, they are all very nice!]) so I don’t know if that’s a perfect connection! ๐Ÿ˜‰ …Thanks for stopping in and for the comments!

WomanChild: Haha! I found that to be quite humorous! Perhaps I should pity you for not being able to eat breakfast after viewing this? ๐Ÿ˜‰ —

Now I am curious if you indeed ate breakfast this morning, perhaps relocating your mind to a much more attractive abundance? Funny stuff! Thank you for the comments! ๐Ÿ™‚

Lou: In other words, this photograph is kooky! Ha! …I loved your explanation on how this warrants pleasure as well as horror, especially with the opened mouth and the like. I would like to actually go back and re-do these. Next time I won’t eat toostie rolls (or any candy!) before taking them so that I don’t get it on the corners of my mouth! Ha! Fun times, fun times. Thank you for the comments, as always! ๐Ÿ™‚

Craig: Oh he helped! Ha! But he didn’t necessarily "help" in the way that one would consider "helping someone" — In fact, he helped so wonderfully that I got more bloodier by the minutes! ๐Ÿ™‚

And no worries, I’m still kickin’…;) — Thank you, as always, for the comments!

yoshi: Ha! I suppose "it worked" then, eh? I know that something worked out great when I read/hear/see people’s reactions to it. Knowing that someone "cringed", "slithered", got chill-bumps, &c., &c. makes it apparent that the effect tangled one’s senses and was quite vital in providing the insanity that was hoped for! ๐Ÿ™‚ …As always, thank you for the comments!

A huge thanks to all of you again for the comments/praise! ๐Ÿ™‚

Perhaps I am in the wrong time capsule?

  15. argesp: thank you!

marinkel: Haha! Oh don’t be silly! There’s no telling how many people "worry" about me! So, I suppose you’re one of those in the bunch, eh? ๐Ÿ˜‰ Thanks for the comments!!

    mia: Thanks, thanks! ๐Ÿ™‚

Maggie: We’re all poets in our own way. ๐Ÿ™‚

darkroomsuicide: I hope the tickling wasn’t with a tool such as a razor-edged object! ๐Ÿ˜‰ …Thanks for the comments! Thoroughly appreciated!

  16. solea: Thank you!! ๐Ÿ™‚

grace: Thanks for clapping! and for the comments, as always! Oh the fun never ends, my friend! Never, ever, ever ends! It is all about fun anyway — because if it wasn’t fun, then there really wouldn’t be any need to do these experiments anymore, you know? ๐Ÿ™‚

aletheuo: Not even close! Ha! Thanks for the comments! ๐Ÿ™‚

Haint: You look vampyric there! You would’ve given Klaus Kinski a run for his money! ๐Ÿ™‚

  17. Dear Igor…you’re supposed to shave with a straight razor…not razor wire! Better get some ointment on that right away! And that eye….you’re not getting pink eye are you? We had a rash of that going around the castle some time back you know?

In all seriousness….I love the pic. Great work Igor!

  18. ok i don’t like standing in long lines, so i stop worrying and just enjoy the shivers you give me running up and down my spine… *bliss*

  19. that’s incredible!!! your eye…so scary and the shadow on your face…makes everything even more spooky! Love it! ๐Ÿ™‚

as for making the blood…sounds really interesting! ๐Ÿ˜‰
I’m "playing" with blood almost everyday…but I’ve never made it ๐Ÿ˜‰

  20. oh boy.. who is this?
and is the blood real? looks so ๐Ÿ˜‰ the eyes are also looking great..
the photo could be from a film…
maybe i should show this to my brother, maybe you can make photos for his filmplacards in the future ๐Ÿ˜‰

  21. Ah man! Thanks to all of you kind people for the comments and such! My appreciation is beyond words, I promise you!

Dana: Thanks, my friend! This is me! ๐Ÿ˜‰

I would love to do work for your brother, but unfortunately I’m across the pond! ๐Ÿ™‚

  22. ArstySF: Well, that’s exciting to know, that you were grossed out! I hope there were no "repercussions" for being grossed out! ๐Ÿ˜‰ …Thank you for the comments!

Katya: Haha! Have you come out from under the bed yet? ๐Ÿ™‚

fotoattack: You’re too kind! Thanks! ๐Ÿ™‚

  23. The sensuality and allure from your lips alone, prevent me from seeing the actual atrocity hidden deep behind your expressiveness. That probably didn’t make sense, but it does to me. Your dramatic persona is rather attractive….and you talk so much.

  24. *swallows*

This photo leaves me searching for something to cleanse my mind… I am so deeply affected… Looking at leaves me feeling like I am about to have a panic attack.

I want to say amazing photo, but truly… it rips my soul to shreds.

    Emmy

  25. WOW, if you can give me the heebie jeebies then you have succeeded. I guess that means you succeeded quite nicely here.

    cheers!

  26. i only clicked this image to reassure myself it wasnt real blood…and i feel better now….but the eye…the eye!! creepy…

  27. Huge, balled-up-into-one THANK YOU to each and every one of you for the comments!

In love with all praise and words. Truly! ๐Ÿ™‚

  28. I was cold in a dream
    somewhere close to the surface
Between the ice and the stream
there is three inches of air
So I swam towards the light
I let my breath get there first
    When I opened my eyes
I saw myself in the mirror
And I knew I would do like my father has done
Yes, we will never break from these chains
Your life is gonna course like a history book
Don’t be frightened of turning the page
Cause it’s is all the same
It will always be the same…

    Love your Lips!

  29. Saher,allil, michelle, Oneshot.at and psychic_heart: Thank you all for the kind visits/kind words/compliments!

I have another idea for something somewhat similar to this particular image, but a little more on the gore-a-thon side…

  30. i just went back to look at my faved photos,
this was my very FIRST one i ever favorited!

    still my favorite ever!! ๐Ÿ™‚
