Collect Them All!: Confessions of a Recovering Action Figure Thief.

Collect Them All!: Confessions of a Recovering Action Figure Thief.

The tale of two brothers fanatically collecting Kenner’s Star Wars Action Figures by any means necessary. Over 100 tiny portraits punctuate the acquisition of the figures throughout the Odyssey. Starting in 1978, the story combines fond, odd and sometimes disturbing childhood memories from along the brothers’ personal journey; collecting nearly every figure ever made by 1985. Some adult themes.

But it is a decent read if you are a Star Wars action figure fan. The writer gets a little too personal at times rather than sticking to the subject.

Brings back some great memories, November 16, 2012

Kurt is an entertaining writer and this book is funny and also brings back the nostalgia of waiting for the Star Wars movies to come to the theater as well as spending hours hunting down the action figures and collectibles. I was also 7 when the movie first came out. After reading this book I had to watch Episode IV again. I didn’t realize how much a part of my life this series was back then but reading this made me aware of how much impact it had. To this day when I hear the 20th Century music intro I think “Star Wars” and how I would run to the TV to watch the commercial. It was a fun read.
