I love RISK games, and I have been waiting for another one to come out for a while. Up to this point, Risk 2210 AD was the best one to come out in my opinion. I loved how that game included the commanders, currency, turn bidding, cards, and other aspects that made every game different. Risk: Metal Gear Solid is similar to that in a lot of ways, but it doesn’t totally copy it, either. In this game, there are “Bosses” instead of leaders, but they all have their own abilities, and some of them are pretty cool! This game also has a form of currency (Drebin Points), that can be used to purchase and activate cards. However, this game does not have the turn bidding like 2210 AD did, so the only thing you need drebin points for are buying and playing cards and bosses. This game also uses a moving territory (outer haven ship), which is a cool concept, but I haven’t really found a way to use the ship in a way that it benefits me at all. Every time I go to take the mobile territory I end up loosing because I sacrifice all of my guys to take it. Aside from not totally figuring out a good startegy for that, this game is great, and incorporates aspects of regular and modern RISK games but is still able to stand alone as it’s own version. If you are a fan of RISK, or Metal Gear for that matter, I would highly reccomend you go out and pick this one up. Try to find the Limited Edition if you can, the artwork is WAY better on that one!

The game is very cool, but takes a little longer to get going than a standard game of Risk would. Just a little more complicated, but still great fun for anyone who is a fan of Risk or Metal Gear.

This is a really sweet game to play, I like playing with all the options and the different dice makes for a better game then your standard d6 in risk, this is probably my favorite RISK version yet.
