STRANGE – VW CAMPER – 3
That’s in interesting approach to a recreational vehicle.
I nearly fell off the walls when I first saw it … lol
Excellent; that’s a first for me…..
Seen next to a fellow photo of Vintage Vehicles At Speed – pre 1980. (?)
Yes` a first for me too.
Yeah, look’s like an old camp trailer mounted on the VW chassis!
Round here we sometimes see substantial caravans mounted on the back of flat bed lorries but this, mounted ‘of a piece’ on such an iconic vehicle as the VW ‘bus really works well to my eye.
Seen in Vintage Vehicles At Speed – pre 1980 (?)
yes` a very clever idea.
It does look like a professional job done from new. I’ sure I’ve seen a similar one in a magazine years ago, but never in the flesh.
It’s on a W-suffix plate which is slightly after the T25 square transporter came out, so maybe it hung around a while at the coachbuilders before being registered.
It’s RH drive, so probably not an import.
it does make me wonder IF the owner can lower the vanette on to a sight
and driver away ?.
Wow, how wierd!
Take a look at my pictures and leave a comment
very strange indeed.
Hey – that’s my van.! 1973 Jurgans Autovilla, manufactured (& imported from) South Africa. I painted it in the blue.. they’re a rare sight, maybe 6 to 8 in the u.k but most have the over cab-bed too, mine was one of the 1st off the production line. Karmann took the idea & later developed it into the ‘Gypsey’ in Germany.
