Three Chords & The Truth

Three Chords & The Truth

Featuring both hard-driving, soulful traditional bluegrass and old school honky-tonk country, James King’s Three Chords and the Truth is a landmark album in an already outstanding career. I am pretty much soured against the morphing the commercial aspect of music does. AND, I’ve had a rebellious streak in my soul since a was tall enough to walk. James takes care of both those itches. Straight ahead bluegrass, great hill harmonies, great selections of songs. A TRUE ‘star’ in my book!

If you like your bluegrass music as authentic as it can get like I do, then please give this a listen. Too many bluegrass groups today think they need to manipulate the rules to suit themselves or their perceived audiences. You have to learn the rules before you can break them, and that’s why James King will continue to out-sell the wannabees every day of the week. I listen to James King (and I listen very carefully,) because I know I’ll be experiencing a talent based on honest conviction and a deep respect for the traditions of the music. He’ll never get a CMA Award – and that’s just fine for all his fans.
