I never posted a product review for anything I bought from Amazon but I’d like to share this review to all potential customers who want to improve their network connectivity…

I bought 3-units of TP-Link TL-PA511: 1-unit is connected to D-Link DIR-835 Wireless Router via CAT-6 Ethernet cable, the 2nd unit is connected using the same cable type to TP-Link TL-WR1043ND Wireless Router loaded with DD-WRT firmware and set as an Access Point that also provides connection to the Smart TV, the blue-ray player and the TV-signal streaming device called Vulkano. The 3rd unit is also connected to another TP-Link TL-WR1043ND Wireless Router with the same DD-WRT firmware but set-up as a Gateway providing DHCP/IP Addresses to all other devices in the house. With these set-up, I am now able to get maximum wireless transfer speed from either the Access Point or the DHCP-Router (different sub-net from the main router) and at any point in my house. It basically seemed like I’m connected by wire to these devices – something that you can’t get when the TP-Link DD-WRT routers were configured as Client Bridge/Repeater. This doudbled my connection to the internet and to my internal server. Now, I stopped my endless search for ways to tweak/adjust the setting in DD-WRT firmware just to improve my connection speed. Highly recommended!!! [Note: just make sure that only the TL-PA511 is plugged in the outlet and find ways where to plug your other devices. The noise from other connected devices on the same outlet seems to reduce the connection transfer rate.]

Works as advertised, although not at the speed advertised. Running one by the modem and two others through the house. Both have a rate of about 170mbps. Still more than enough to stream HD. Had them for about a month and neither has dropped the connection. Excellent buy for the price.

This works like a champ… have this as my “base” in my home office connected to my computer. Have two of the WiFi modules on the first and second floor above and have good solid WiFi all through my home with no problems. All of my outlets are NOT on the same breaker box branch, but I have not seen a problem. Brilliant idea!
